Jane Birkin is beautiful and so is this song. A fun and flirty song that automatically puts me in a good mood.

Ghost Of A Saber Tooth Tiger

I recently saw an interview with the couple and they talked about being on their own label, taking care of their own publicity, and basically doing everything themselves. By doing this, no one can tell them what to do or how to sound. They are pretty snazzy. I'm glad I found out about them.

Songs I Love: Sous Le Ciel De Paris
I often find my music through commercials, movies, or tv shows. When watching An Education, I came across this song by Juliette Greco and fell madly in love with it. I don't speak French, but sometimes I pretend while singing songs (just like my dad!)

NKOTB

The crowd was very interesting, I must say. It was basically 6,000 cougars and milfs who were in their teens when NKOTB was at their finest. I was expecting to see some bras tossed, but no such thing happened in front of my eyes.
So the guys played some new stuff that I didn't know, but didn't mind because they still have some fly moves. They also played many of my favorites - Hanging Tough, Step by Step, Tonight, Please Don't Go Girl, and so many more. All in all, it was a GREAT night with a great group of friends.

Songs I Love: I'll Be Seeing You

This song brings tears to my eyes. The type of tears that comes from deep within your soul, the type of tears that make you long for your loved ones. Not to mention this song was in the movie The Notebook when the older Noah and older Allie dance together during the few short minutes they had together. Or was it after they danced and he played it for her? Anywho, what a tear-jerker this song is for me.

Songs I Love: We Are The People

I was introduced to this song by my Chi girls the other weekend and I haven't stopped listening to it since. Also, rumor has it these guys are collaborating with Jay-Z on a few tracks (think of Linkin Park and Jay-Z collab). Hot hot hot!
P.S. Don't these guys look like characters from The Lord of the Rings?

Songs I Love: Pretty Girls Make Graves

I truly believe that I was meant to be some scenester teeny-bopper in the 80's. I will never stop wearing leggings, rock a side pony tail, and will throw my hands in the air and jump around dancing like there's no tomorrow. I love a little synth, fluffy hair, and the whiny-swoony voices of groups from the 80's.

Songs I Love: TNT

My bf and I went to see one of our fav DJs (A-Trak) at Webster Hall a few weeks ago, and the artist who opened for him was ahhhmazing! His name is Theophilus London and I promise you he is dat new new, up-n-comin, hip-tronic, awesomeness. I think I just made up a few phrases, but a man like this deserves words that are out of this world. His dance moves reminded me of a drunk robot, but he was great to watch. He even has a song that pulls in Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" into a hot hot track that makes you want to move and shake yo thang. Although I loove me some A-Trak, Theophilus made my night!

Songs I Love: Mad World

I believe I have every recorded version of the song Mad World, originally sung by Tears for Fears, but my favorite version is Gary Jules' from the Donnie Darko soundtrack. This song always brings me to peace no matter how "mad" the world can get. I especially love this song these days as I find myself being busier than ever. All I want is to have that lovely picnic pictured above and just relax.

Songs I Love: Doorway

I always pay close attention to songs in commercial. Like really pay attention. I like to think I have an ear (no pun intended) for picking up on songs in commercials. Now of course it helps that I always my laptop of Blackberry close by to Google songs the moment I see the commercial. Doorway by IO Echo is just the latest song that I do a little head bop to when the commercial for the Sprint Palm Pre comes on.

Songs I Love: Koop Island Blues

I first heard this song last week on So You Think You Can Dance. This song is jazzy, sexy, and is a great song to listen to on a summer's evening.

Songs I Love: We Made You

Eminem - We Made You
Ah yes, that's right, Marshall Mathers is back again with a brand new album. I remember when Eminem first came out, I remember thinking that he was just another white boy trying to be gangsta. To my surprise, I loved him. I loved him and all his dirty, poking-fun of, crossing boundary type rapping. It's been 5 years, and I am sooo ready for it!

Songs I Love: Daniel

Not only do I love the styling of Natasha Kahn (lead woman of Bat For Lashes), I love her voice! It reminds me of Enya/Heart/something wonderful. This song Daniel makes me want to put flowers in my hair and dance in circles with my arms out.

Songs I Love: By Your Side (Neptunes Remix)

I'm bringing it back old school again! I love Sade with her smooth vocals and I love The Neptunes with their amazing mixing abilities. What a match made in remix heaven! Now I came across this song during the Napster days in high school and I have loved it ever since. This was the song I played in my car when I was feeling a bit sad, but wanted to feel good. Bingo! This song has it all.

Songs I Love: New Slang

Now this is not a new song to me, it's actually one of my favorite songs of all-time (all 24 years of my life so far, that is). I first heard it when watching Garden State (I love love love this movie). When Natalie Portman's character said, "you've gotta hear this one song, it'll change your life I swear", I was thinking JUST that...all within a few seconds of hearing the song. Actually, if I had a soundtrack to my life, I think it would sound a lot like Garden State. Listening to it makes me want to sit back, relax, and take a deep breath.
A few more songs I adore from Garden State:
Caring is Creepy - The Shins
Coldplay - Don't Panic
Frou Frou - Let Go
Simon and Garfunkel - Only Living Boy in New York
One of These Things - Nick Drake
Iron and Wine - Such Great Heights

Songs I Love: I'm In Miami B!tch

As for the youtube vid, I found 2 scrawny tween boys who remade the video, and I decided to post it instead of the original....just because those boys are so adorable.
**Oh, and I can't forget to mention how DEAD SEXY the guys of LMFAO are. So sexy I would make out with them (sorry Roberto, I still love you!).
