Garanimals At Dylan's

We had our first big media event today for my brand Garanimals at Dylan's Candy Bar. For those of you who've never heard of Dylan's, then the best comparison I can give you is Willy Wonka Land. The whole store is filled with candy and other sweet treats. There is even candy floating in the floors and walls. Mind you this place is notorious for charging you $10 for a bag of gummy bears, but it's still pretty cool to go to.

We had a kiddie fashion show, fun games and crafts for the kids, and a very passive-aggressive balloon artist. My main job for the event was being a baby stylist...fixing outfits, adding accessories, and putting shoes on them (not fun). However, I have been working with the PR agency for over a month to put together this event and would like to give myself a pat on the shoulder (or a shopping trip in SoHo this weekend).

Daft Bodies

I'm a huge Daft Punk fan, so of course I think this video called "Daft Bodies" is awesome. At first I thought, "WTF...this video has 8 million hits and it's of 2 half-naked girls with duct taped cardboard boxes over their heads dancing to Daft Punk!" Then I watched it, and totally dig it. I think you would also appreciate it.

My Future Kids

I giggle at the thought that if my boyfriend and I have a baby (in 5 or so years), then he/she will be a Vietna-Jew. So naturally I loved running into these chairs outside some rando place in East Village. Oh the irony!

Designer Collaboration: Alternative Apparel

I just LOVE when high-end designers team up with my beloved retailers. I believe Target started this craze with their Go International line, and ever since then, my fav designers have been giving us high fashion at a fraction of the cost. The latest collab is Richard Chai and Alternative Apparel (Jeremy Scott is also doing a T shirt line with AA). Chic and comfy....just how I like it.

KFC's Double Down Sandwich

KFC came up with a new chicken sandwich, except this sandwich doesn't contain a bun. They are calling this the "Double Down" and it's 2 pieces of bacon, 2 slices of cheese, and the Colonel's special sauce sandwiched between 2 filets of chicken (fried or grilled - for the "healthy conscience"). To step up the grossness factor, the Double Down has it's own countdown to the public, so all of those hongree folks can go wait in line like it's the newest XBox (it will arrive in t-minus 2 days, 17 minutes, 52 seconds, 51, 50, 49....). My assistant whose diet mainly consists of chicken, cheese, and bread brought this "sandwich' to my attention, and he expressed his desire to go try it. I'll let you guys know if he begins to seizure or foam at the mouth (nutrition facts listed below - I will admit I thought it would be worse!).

Sandwich Calories Fat (g) Sodium (mg)
KFC Original Recipe® Double Down 540 32 1380

Rob vs. Shrek (the human)

I've told this to my bf Rob before, and he definitely would not like me telling the world this, but he resembles the human version of Shrek (from Shrek 2). The animated ladies swooned over the human Shrek! Even the bartender said, "His face looks like it was carved by angels..." I agree :)
