One of my best friends Susie was in town for a visit and so was my friend Andrew. Saturday night, we ended up with a group of IU grads, lots of tequila, hookah, a bouquet of flowers, and dancing. It was a joyous night and brought me back to the glory days of IU.
One of my dearest friends Megan is moving to Portland, Maine in a couple of months, and before she goes there is a long list of places to visit and restaurants to try. For quite sometime now, Megan has talked about having brunch at Egg in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, so finally we all made it there this past Sunday. It's a little space with VERY minimal decor, but I did like the trip back to childhood with the crayons on the table. The brunch menu was also simple, but down to the point. No frills or fancy ingredients, just good food. I had the country ham and cheddar biscuit with fig jam and a side of cheddar grits. It was the perfect cure for a hangover!
What better way to spend the day than going to Ikea! What makes a trip to Ikea so fun? A lovely sunny day, free water taxi ride with a great view of the Statue of Liberty, meatballs with lingonberry jam, and a great deal on new sheets and pillows!
I've been looking for the perfect cape coat/poncho/blanket coat, whatever you call it. They are all the rage this winter and finding a good one for a good price has been very difficult. Luckily for me, I found a hardly worn, native print, Dolce Vita wonder on eBay for $50. Shwing shwing!
This may look wrong to some people, but I find it hilarious and adorable. I guess you just have to know his parents :) Carter is the cutest!
