Mini Donuts by Re-Ment

My coworker/friend was just on vaca last week and brought us some special "little" gifts. These goodies are from a Japanese company called Re-Ment of which you buy a certain collection and open the box to discover which part of the collection you got (surprise!). The above photo was my gift, a little donut set. Yes, those tasty little toys are Barbie size and oh so fun. My other friend got a fast food breakfast set (think Egg McMuffin), another got a miniature nature scene with a deer and bunny rabbit, and the other got a little cat that came with a Mac laptop. I think my friend may have created another collector of these Re-Ment toys.

My Future Wedding Photo

This is exactly how I want my wedding photos to look like; quirky and fun. I also love that this wedding party exemplifies a little bit of old and a snid-bit of new. How fun-tastic!

Love Robster

My BF (Rob) and I love lobsters, so when I came across this photo I automatically thought about my love, my Robster.

Paper Foldables

My friends and I are loving these awesomely fun paper toys (like paperdolls from back in the day, but way cooler) from paperfoldables.com. They are freakin' hilarious and if you are ever in an awkward situation (and are carrying one with you in your purse for any reason), they make quite the conversation starter.

Guess Who?

Can anyone guess who this young man is? A little hint...He will grow up to be one of People mags most beautiful (numerous times), he blew up as a star in ER, and was once the Batman.

Prince Harry Coming to NY (Dlisted Style)

Dlisted posted a laughed-so-much-my-stomach-hurt write-up about Prince Harry (Prince Hot Ginge). Oh man, I could get busted for web surfing/blog posting during work, but this stuff must be shared.

Pull out your fire extinguishers and aim it my no-no, because I think it's about to explode. Prince Hot Ginge is cumming on the nape of my neck. Sorry, I'm jumping the ginge. Prince Hot Ginge is coming to AMERICA! Not only America, but New York City! We will be breathing the same air! Does that mean if I stuck my tongue into the NYC air and wriggle it around a bit, it will be like making out Hot Ginge?

The city should be put on high alert now, because a crazed ginge-hongray homo will be running through the streets dry humping anything with a fiery top hoping it's Hot Ginge. That's right. Keep your Pomeranian locked up. I can't be held responsible for my actions.

Prince Hot Ginge will be visiting NYC on official business! On May 30th, he will take part in The Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic on Governors Island. The proceeds from the match will go to Hot Ginge's charity for African orphans.

A polo match? That involves horsies, right? QUICK! We don't have much time. Print out one of Sarah Jessica Parker's headshots, cut out the eyes (this is important) and make it into a little mask. Then get me 2 pairs of these shoes. I already have the saddle (DON'T JUDGE). Then I'll have to find a way to slip Prince Hot Ginge's horse a GHB-laced sugar cube. When his horse passes out, I'll be standing there batting my lashes like I'm ready to ride!

Weardrobe

A former co-worker lead me to Weardrobe.com, via her awesome fashion blog What I Wore. Weardrobe is a sort of networking site for fashion (Who's Wearing What). Basically, Weardrobers post photos of their own outfits online, tag their clothing items, write descriptions on what lead them to this outfit (or whatever else they want to say), and you can friend others and comment on their outfits. It also functions as a virtual closet where you can see which clothing items you have worn with what outfits. To make it even better, there are weekly contests where you can win store gift cards. It is a VERY cool site, and I am already addicted.

You can find me under my username Nam Phuong (my Vietnamese name).

I Must Have These!

I'm in the market for new glasses, and I'm thinking of going a bit edgy with my next pair. I found these amazingly geek-chic glasses called SUPER (CICCIO), by RETROSUPERFUTURE®. They are apparently sold at Barneys, Oak, and a few other places in NY, so I will be on hunt for them. I really MUST HAVE these glasses, but like a pair of jeans, you should try them on before buying them (not to mention the pair I like - Jacquard - are not sold online).

Decorating

My bedroom is very very tiny, so I figure, "Why not make the most of it?" Having a tiny room means I have less furniture and things in general, which means I need to decorate a lot more (on my blank white walls) to give it some spunk and personality. I have collected a few little pieces here and there, and I am slowly putting them up on my wall. So what I have pictured above is currently on my wall, but I am still looking for more items.

What do you think?

Rachel the Goddess

I was walking home the other night when a man handed me a flier. I figured it was a menu for a new restaurant or perhaps some tanning place deal, but lo and behold a flier promoting Rachel the Goddess. A woman (or man) performing (stripping? singing? stand-up comedy?) at some place in Brooklyn. The flier says things like "Security is tight tight tight, like me" and "Psalm 23 yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil." I'm not going to lie, this Rachel has quite a bizarre look to her...

You never know what you will run into in NY.

Crack is Whack

A faux booty crack was seen struttin' down the runway of Hussein Chalayan's Fall 2009 line. I don't think that's a trend that will go to far, but who am I to say?

Gnomes at Home

I find some hobbies hilarious....such as a house in Sydney, Australia whose lawn in filled with hundreds of gnomes. It all started with one little gnome...

To think of it, my sorority sisters and I had a gnome of our own....Naiboo Santa. He lived with us for a few years and we took care of him and he watched out for us.

Guilt-Free Graffiti

Walls Notebook by Moleskine is 80 photos of guilt-free graffiti that you yourself can create on New York City walls. These are blank photos of walls that you can jot down your thoughts, messages, artwork, or any creativity that runs through your fingers. So go ahead and "deface" public property! What a sweet idea for that little criminal inside!

Tosco Prints

The Behance Network is a site for "creative portfolios, projects, and collaborations"; a network for creative geniuses I suppose :)

Tosco's Toy Portfolio has some awesome prints featuring dogs, which I interpret as a modernized rendition of the "poker dogs". I am personally fond of the above print that features two Shar-Peis (like my Hercules).

Minimí

I'm not what sure came first, the "Minimí" (mini-me) or the guy?

Stairway to Where?

I don't know where this stairway is, or where it leads to, but it must be some place marvelous!

Ok....so it's actually a loft in London, but I like to pretend that it leads to somewhere mystical.

JR's Photography

A French photographer named "JR" photographs impoverished and victimized women in South America, Africa, and Asia then posts huge poster-size versions of the pictures (illegally) on buildings, stairs, bridges, buses, and just about anywhere you may or may not expect. The photographer cannot reveal his name in case he is prosecuted, but his message is not going unnoticed. His work is beautiful, and you can see the feeling and emotion in these women's eyes and faces. This work is truly inspiring.

Barbie Fashion Show

It's NY Fashion Week time! In celebration of Barbie's 50th birthday, a runway show was dedicated to the iconic doll where designers (such as Calvin Klein and Alexander Wang) were given the opportunity to put out their best Barbie looks. I'm sure it was a fab show!
