The Charles

The Charles has been disclosed from the public until now, and I'm not sure how hot the scene is. It's supposed to be an inclusive-esque - Waverly Inn - type place, but I'm not noticing any buzz. I read a lot about new restaurants and the new "it" places to dine, but this place hasn't really been listed. Hell, if it wasn't down the block, I would have no idea of its existence. Well, nonetheless, it's a new place to get a chic $15 drink.

Secret Destination

My roomie, Courtney, and I discovered a nice spot along the Hudson River off of Christopher St. and the Westside Highway. It's a little pier with a strip of plush grass in the center and a lovely view of Jersey and the Hudson. Why lay out in the middle of Manhattan in Central Park when you can lay out along the Hudson?!

Ode to Morgan!

This ode to my photographer friend is long overdue.

My 'sararity sista' Morgan is a wonderful photographer who captures the true essence of happiness in her photos. We were lucky enough to have her here in NYC a month or so ago, and I just wanted to share her blog with ya'll....Morgan Matters Photography.

Spring RTW 2010

Now that Fall Fashion Week is over, I have reviewed many of the collections, and here are a few looks that I hope to achieve for Spring 2010.

1) Tommy Hilfiger - I already love the men's pant/blazer with a feminine tank look...so I think I can pull this one off.

2) Marc Jacobs - A strong, many military jacket with a super short ruffle ensemble... Not to mention the slicked back, on top of your head, bun with scrunchy!...Awesome!

3) Peter Som - Who knew a geometric pattern and polka dots could go so well together? Also, if you know me, you know how I love a big hair piece...be it a shower cap look-a-like or not.

4) Temperley London - LOVE LOVE LOVE the black and white mini skirt, embellished blazer, and that amazing top hat. So circus-like!

I see my own personal style in each of these outfits. Love it!!

Football is Here!

It's football season! Now I'm not a huge football fan, but I do enjoy a good tailgate. I went to Indiana University where we weren't exactly known for our football team. To be honest, I never went to one football game. However, I did go to most of our home tailgates. If you ever want to witness college binge drinking, come to an IU tailgate where it rains Keystone Light and Kamchatka vodka (1/2 gallon for $9.99). We woke up as early as 7AM to tailgate all the way until the sun set; where burgers were grillin', there were tables of flippy cup, beer bongs, keg stands, chugging contests, cornhole, and other Midwest things to do. Sigh...

Atticus - 6 Months

I finally got to meet that wonderful baby cousin of mine, Atticus! He did not disappoint! He was the best behaved, cutest, chubbiest, biggest headed baby I have ever met. I may not see him very often, but I love him as much as anyone could. What a babe he is!

Dumb-Dumb of the Week: Mr. West

Kanye West never ceases to amaze us with how un-humble he is with his fame. Yeah so he's not a poor boy from the 'hood. Yeah so he dropped out of college. He says he doesn't like the bad talk about him, but that he doesn't care anymore. Then why does he allow such foul things to come from his mouth? Well, I'm talking about tonight's incident on MTV VMA Awards where Kanye runs onto the stage while Taylor Swift accepts her award, grabs the mic, and tells the world that he thinks Beyonce deserved it instead. In the words of Stephanie Tanner, "How Rude!" Tell me that was a publicity stunt because no "normal" celeb being would steal someone's moment in front of millions like that. Ok, I admit. I get celebrity-stunned when I see Kanye....saw him at the John Legend concert as well as tried to see him inside Bape in SoHo the other night (unsuccessful). Why do I even care?!

Goodbye August

August went by so quickly that it's already September 8th. Did Summer ever come before Fall could arrive?

Songs I Love: TNT

TNT - Theophilus London

My bf and I went to see one of our fav DJs (A-Trak) at Webster Hall a few weeks ago, and the artist who opened for him was ahhhmazing! His name is Theophilus London and I promise you he is dat new new, up-n-comin, hip-tronic, awesomeness. I think I just made up a few phrases, but a man like this deserves words that are out of this world. His dance moves reminded me of a drunk robot, but he was great to watch. He even has a song that pulls in Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" into a hot hot track that makes you want to move and shake yo thang. Although I loove me some A-Trak, Theophilus made my night!

Missin'

I just got back to my apartment, and boy do I miss home already. What a great weekend with my family and friends from Ft. Wayne. Seeing my mom cry at the airport has been a constant vision in my mind, thus causing a continuous tears from my eyes.
